Requirements for Home Inspectors in Rhode Island

Registration Requirements for new Associate Home Inspectors in RI
- Documentation of Successful Completion of Exam from PSI. (Exam may have been passed before January 1, 2020) Click Here for information on the required examination.
- Certificate of Liability Insurance listing RICRLB as the holder. (min. $500,000)
- Certificate of Errors and Omission Insurance listing RICRLB as the holder. (min. $500,000)
- Certificate of Workerâs Compensation Insurance listing RICRLB as the holder.
- If your company is a corporation or Limited Liability Company, you must possess a valid business registration with the Rhode Island Secretary of State.
- Has assisted in at least fifty (50) home inspections in the presence of a licensed home inspector.
- After licensing, inspectors must state that they are an associate inspector on report.
- Apply Online Application for New Associate Home Inspectors - *All applications must be submitted online.
After reaching associate level, 100 more unsupervised inspections will allow inspectors to apply for full license.
