Requirements for Home Inspectors in Montana

The PHII Home Inspection Course is approved for the Montana home inspector license training. The requirements for home inspector licensing in Montana are below:
1) complete the home inspector application
2) pay the $80 application fee
3) successfully complete 40 hours of comprehensive home inspection instruction or has passed a Department approved national examination.
4) become a member of a national home inspector association. (NAAHI is an approved association)
5) obtain a minimum of $100,000 general commercial liability insurance, and a minimum of $100,000 errors and omissions insurance.
6) obtain coverage under a workersâ compensation policy or has an independent contractor exemption certificate (ICEC) for the occupation of home inspection.
