Requirements for Home Inspectors in Maryland


Maryland Home Inspection Certification/License regulationsHome Inspection is a licensed profession in Maryland.

PHII is approved to provide the required education. Our 9 day, 72 hour, Classroom course is approved in MD.

To become licensed, home inspectors must:
1.) Have a high school diploma or equivalent
2.) Complete 72 hours of approved Classroom education
3.) Successfully pass the NHIE
4.) Submit proof of liability insurance ($50,000)
5.) Submit application and fee


Certification Required: Yes
PHII Approved: Yes (Classroom Only)
