Requirements for Home Inspectors in Indiana

Home Inspection is a licensed profession in Indiana.
PHII is approved to provide the required education Online or In-Classroom.
To become licensed, home inspectors must:
1.) Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
2.) Graduated from high school or earned a GED
3.) Have not been committed a crime or act that would prohibit you from obtaining the license
4.) Complete an approved 60 hour training course
5.) Complete 2 field inspection events (mock inspections as shown below)
6.) Successfully pass the NHIE
7.) Submit proof of liability insurance ($100,000)
8.) Submit application and fee
Field Inspection Event Details:
After completing the online course, a student is required to complete two inspection events. Each event consists of completing a mock home inspection and submitting the final report to our instructors for review. Our instructors will review the reports and provide appropriate feedback.
