Requirements for Home Inspectors in Alaska

Home Inspection is a licensed profession in Alaska.
AK does not require a training course nor approve training providers.
PHIIâs home inspector training will provide you the knowledge needed to become a successful home inspector in Alaska. The course will prepare you for membership into a national home inspection organizations and to complete the NHIE and CRI.
To become licensed, home inspectors must:
1.) Submit Application and Fee
2.) Complete Exam: NHIE or NAHIâs Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI)
3.) Surety Bond ($5,000)
4.) Liability Insurance
** Inspectors applying for New Home or Joint registration will have additional requirements.
