Virginia Mold Inspection / Remediation Info
Virginia law makes it a violation of the VCPA to offer or perform mold remediation on a residential dwelling without holding a mold remediation certification. HB 1270 (effective July 1, 2024) requires certification specifically from the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification). HB 2355 (2025) expands this to allow certification from any nationally or internationally recognized certifying body, not just IICRC. Completing PMII's Mold Remediation course provides the technical foundation and exam preparation needed to succeed.
